Where is the Verification Option For My Facebook Business?

verifying My Facebook Business

Can’t find the verification option for your business page on Facebook? Here are some possible solutions to get the option back.

Make Sure Information Matches when Verifying My Facebook Business

Make sure that all the info in your profile matches the info on your website.

For example, the phone number on the business page should match the one you have listed on your website. Facebook is looking for pages that look like legitimate businesses and having phone numbers and addresses that don’t match is not the way to do this.

Keeping this same thing in mind, you need to make sure that the content you post looks professional. Facebook combs your site and pages to make sure that all info matches. It’s professional to keep all of your info consistent and prevents your business from looking spammy!

Fill Out Everything for Verifying My Facebook Business

Next, try to fill out all the information you can.

One thing that a lot of people miss is putting in a link to your company’s privacy policy. If you don’t have the link, add it. If you do a Google search for a privacy policy generator, you can find a privacy policy to use on your site.

A privacy policy is a must when doing business and it will make your business look more legit. Plus, a privacy policy will benefit your customers as well, by giving them some peace-of-mind.

Post Quality Content

Another thing you need to do is make sure that you are posting quality content on your page regularly. This can’t be done in just one or two weeks. It’s more of a long-term thing. Once again, make sure this content looks professional so Facebook knows that you own a legitimate business.

Use high quality photos and videos, avoiding blurry or pixelated content. This will boost your credibility not only to Facebook, but to your customers as well!

List as a Local Business

According to some social media specialists, a local business will be more likely to get verified, so make sure that you are listed as a local business.

You used to be able to do this by changing the category. Now you have the option to add multiple categories. Make sure one of those options has the word, “local” in it.

Following these simple tips will increase your chances of getting verified by Facebook and confirming to your viewers that you are legit.

Still Don’t Have the Verification Option?

The bad news is that none of these things are guaranteed to work. No one knows quite how Facebook chooses to give you the verification option or not.

It’s possible that there have been too many fraudulent business verification requests in your area, so Facebook might have taken off the option for all businesses in your area.

Another theory is that if your business went unverified for too long, Facebook took the verification option off for your business.

Whatever the reason, don’t give up! Facebook verification is worth having. AMV is currently working on finding a solution to this problem, and we’ll give you updates on any future findings.
